The wisdom is in your mind not in your mouth

The wisdom is in your mind not in your mouth.

I wanna tell you a story about an old lady I knew in Brazil.

I really like her, and I wish I will be just like her while I’m old. Her name is Sonia. Date back to the first day we met, a great afternoon, I was walking with some other Brazilian colleagues, Sonia came to us and bought us coffee in the bar. At that time, she talked to others in Portuguese so that I barely understood what she talked about; however, I was impressed by her energy, passion, and the way she talked. She is such a lovely lady.

Afterwards, i met her couple times in smoking room and we have some conversation by random. Then we were getting closer since we always meet up there, smoking, drinking café and so on. I really found this lady is so brilliant, smart, knowing lots of knowledge about business operation, and most important is that she is willing to talk to young people and willing to give her advice even though she is such busy.

Cuz of her home near the hotel I stay, we start to hang out in the weekend or what.
We become good friends that are beyond age and language. (she is 60, no kidding)To be honest, her English is not as well as my other colleagues cuz she dislikes the Americans, considering French and European having much rich culture than US.

By the way, besides her mother tong, Portuguese, she speaks perfect French and Spanish. Even though, I still really enjoy the time that I spend with her, she inspires me a lot.

Then I realize that, languages is just one of the way we communicate with each other. There are more much important things interacting with each other in communication, such as the personality, the spirit, the style, the energy and so on.

You don’t have to care about that you are not a native English speaker, or even felt uncomfortable about your accent, trying to reduce your accent or what. There is nothing wrong about your accent as long as people can understand you well. It’s part of your entity. You didn’t speck a perfect English, so what, just speak it out…let ppl get to know you.

The lesson I learned from her :
” the wisdom exists in your mind not in your mouth”;
that is so god damm true!!
